Darling, I had coffee with Annette yesterday- you remember that she is one of Duncan’s friends- the one I told you about. It was an amazing conversation. I understand now why Annette seemed worldly wise. It was coffee, cake and confessional. I learned that she had cheated on her husband a few years back and that he had found out when she got pregnant by lover boy. She is amazingly calm about it all, saying that hubby is one of countless husbands who are raising another man’s child. Its just that he knows he is. She is very philosophical, saying that people pretend that women don’t have appetites, that they don’t seize opportunities to ‘lie with other men’. I love her phrase. Its so sensual isn’t it and yet demure. I doubt that she was lying still! You can imagine I was very interested in all this!

I asked all sorts of questions and dear dear Annette was kind enough to answer most of them. Apparently the worst moment was at the birth, because her boyfriend insisted on being there. She made her husband wait at home. She described it as a rite de passage because boyfriend got to see the baby he helped produce and to have pics taken with Annette and their daughter. After a couple of days she went home and that was the next stage, the handover of influence, because her husband ritually carried ‘his’ daughter into the house. I was curious how her husband adapted as the little girl started to grow. Apparently she looks very like Annette’s ex boyfriend. That was difficult too it seems, but he has adapted and he seems relieved now that Annette didn’t leave him. He says that he feels very avant garde looking after the little girl as though she was his own.

These conversations become swopsy secret don’t they. But I didn’t spill all the beans. I told her that Duncan was my lover and that I had persuaded my husband to accept things. She instantly approved and said that we were sisters. Others were surmising a lot of this anyway and they thought us a very sexy couple. How many ‘friends’ have a Porsche given to them?! What I didn’t tell her was that I am a hot wife, that I have a bull lover who betters Duncan too. Still, for now, it works. I feel that i am coming out a bit in Duncan’s circle. He’s already told a close friend that I am his mistress. Annette will be an ally I am sure. its just a case of deciding when and how to tell her that I am more madam than she has ever been.

Listen…Friday can’t come quick enough. My panties are wet just thinking about it! Tell father time to hurry things along.
