When considering regular bull’s, I think this is far closer to the reality than most realize. There are those couples who simply play once and move on to avoid any sort of emotional connections. While wise, this clearly has its limitations. I think wives are very good at compartmentalizing their emotional attachments in ways that men simply cannot and will no ever understand.

My wife is a perfect example of this behavior of not only believing that her lies are in the best interest of the marriage, but that lying itself and omitting facts were serving the marriage better than transparency.
