It seems silly to try to define normal for others. I’d also say that sex can surely trigger strong emotions, but I think the most successful cuckold arrangements between a wife and another man must have and must maintain the “physical” as both their foundation and central mission.

And of course a husband and wife can have a profound emotional connection entirely outside of sex. They can — and probably most couples do — also have a rich and complex emotional component that derives from their practice of cuckoldry.
