That the man and his intended wife have not had pre-marital sex, or are both virgins.
Thats very rare these days… as its no longer a taboo to have premarital sex and hasnt been for years.

besides, I would have thought it would be more painful or cause more suffering if the husband had experienced sex, and also sex with the woman he is giving away. as something you have never experienced is easier to live without than something that you have and would likely miss.

an example, when I was younger, mobile phones were not a thing… I could easily and did easily live without it. but since i have had one for years, it would feel like my right arm has been cut off to be denied one now… thats the principle im trying to explain here…

just think about it for a second, watching someone have sex is one thing, but watching someone take you partner, and have regular sex and do things you could never hope to do is much harder to accept., plus you have the memories of what that sex felt like for you, and what you are missing out on.
