That certainly sounds like it has good and bad potential.  I think it’s just a matter of time before we have a similar situation.  You mentioned that you don’t want to tell her what to do which would be my position as well.  Just wanted to say good luck.  Life is complicated, I hope it works out well.  I would probably try to assess the guys personality and point out my observations to my wife.
