      ReadyToRelocate

        Note: I currently live in the New England area.  The details below were written for a personals time web site so more info is needed here:  I am 44, SWM, 5’10”, 172lbs.

        My original plans called for trying to move towards my parents towards the end of next Summer since my financial entanglements would be a minimum at that time. But after 15+ years with the same employer, things fell apart recently (November) so I am now looking for work in distant cities that would bring me closer to family. I know I would have better odds at playing the lottery, but I cannot help but think there might be someone who is also seeking an alternative, long-term relationship who has not found someone in their area who might be interesting in meeting an honest, sincere person like myself who is ready to move.

        Me, in a nutshell, beyond the basic profile:

        * Single

        * Non-sissy

        * Non-smoker

        * Non-drug user

        * Non-alcoholic

        * One four-legged dependent

        Austin is my ideal location given all of its perks, but many locations that are closer than New England to family would be OK. Other places of initial interest are San Antonio, Dallas and Oklahoma City since like Austin they have Amtrak service that reaches my parents (nice to have an alternative to driving).  I have applied for jobs in the last week in Houston, Galveston, College Station and even some places outside of Texas since I might be able to find a job with an organization that might lend itself to getting closer in another year or two.  I am currently 3 days by car from family since one cannot assume Old Man Winter will not slow you down at Xmas.  Besides…after about 8 hours in the car my four-legged passengers gets a little snarky. 8-)
