Reply To: Bull and wife on vacation together?

Hi John and thanks for asking!

From all accounts her trip was an amazing success! She got her much-needed time away to a truly beautiful place, with the added benefit of lots of private time with her boyfriend. Their time together must have felt a little like the vacations we took when we were younger: two people away from home and crazy in love! “Paradise” is a word I’ve heard them both use to describe it, and it does please me to have helped make her so happy!

My wife and I even enjoyed one another on her return. Just the two of us which is rare, and I’m sure it was her way of telling me “Thank you”. So that was nice. I had some reservations about their vacation, but now I’m certain it was the right thing. My wife and I are in love, and my wife and her boyfriend are also in love, but I don’t think more love is a bad thing. There is room in her heart to love more than one person.

Another update is that business has picked up for me a little this summer and that has helped relieve some feelings of inadequacy. It’s unfortunate that so much of our self-confidence as men is tied to income, but my role in our marriage is that of provider. The role of “lover” now belongs to another man, so I will do my best to fulfill my role to the best of my abilities.
