Changes Coming To Chat
The use of the mobile chat client for the chatroom will require chatroom registration. This registration is separate from the site registration (by design) and can be done here:
Without having a registered name, you will receive an error when trying to access the mobile chat client. If you use a registered name, you will be prompted for the password before joining chat.
The same link can be used to reset your password if needed. Keep in mind that if you try to register a name that is somewhat common, it may have already been registered or you may have previously registered it and have forgotten your password. If password reset doesn’t work, it may have been registered by someone else and you’ll need to choose another.
This change is part of my commitment to keeping the chat experience as genuine and valid as possible and will be a test which may precipitate other changes.
I.followed the registration process and it says registered, but then give error code for bad password when try.to sign in to chat room
There is registration for the site and there is a different registration for the chatroom – ensure you are registered for the chatroom (link available on the chat launch page) and using that registration’s password.
i guess i forgot my password i cant chat
The link to reset your chat password is the same as is used to register a chat account and is available on the chat launch page.
When I tried to open link to register chat name I get the following:
This site can’t provide a secure connection
reg.parachat.com uses an unsupported protocol.
Any ideas?
That was most likely an issue on their end (out of my control). I just checked the registration page and it worked fine just now.
