Almost all of the couples I’ve been a bull for are ones I’ve known in real life circles. In a couple cases I was introduced.

Many of them had ways of subtly gauging interest from people by raising the topic of cheating and seeing how the person reacted. Like talking about how someone’s wife cheated on him and saying “I’d never cheat with someone else’s wife” and seeing if the other guy agreed or was non-committal (or directly disagreed). Of course, this goes along with knowing that the guy is a good person. This is actually the way my first time being invited into someone else’s marriage happened – it was an older couple and the guy was ostensibly chatting with me “about work topics” but got started chatting “casually.” It was confusing at first because I was young and inexperienced but I caught on quickly and it introduced me to a special role in my life helping many couples reach satisfaction!
